Crab Festival in Miyako 2016

Last Sunday, I visited the Miyako fish market for the crab festival 2016. They sell fresh crabs and sea foods right out from the sea, and they had Ms. Odashiro, Naoko, and Ms. Kanazawa, Misaki, the local singers, to have the show which was excellent. They came with the beautiful Japanese traditional kimono as you can see on their blogs.         [Ms. Odashiro, Naoko's blog] http://ameblo.jp/yukinko0235/entry-12131521881.html [Ms. Kanazawa, Misaki's blog] http://ameblo.jp/strawberry-beauty/entry-12105595682.html They also had the mochi-maki (rice cake scattering) as well. The crab people got on the stage in front and they threw mochi from there.    It was little scary because there were couple crab people threw the mochi like a h3ll.  They were like:     I tell you what, one of the mochi they threw like h3ll became like a comet.        People there were like "Shoot!...

Black people used to be the slaves.  Even though Lincoln did the emancipation of slaves, those black people still did not get the civil rights nor other rights that time. After Martin Luther King's civil rights movement, finally, the black people got the civil rights. Now, who would ever thought that black slaves could become the President of the United States back then? America is the country who does such dynamic reform."   The translated part starting from: 1' 31, ending at 2'05 ...

Heavy snow and penguin walk.

"The first snowfall in almost 115 years was recorded on Amami-Oshima island, a subtropical island located some 380 km (235 miles) southwest of the city of Kagoshima, while temperatures fell to record lows in western and southern Japan."   Ref: [Heavy snow clobbers central, western Japan] http://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2016/01/24/national/heavy-snow-hits-western-central-japan/   There was not so much snow here in Miyako where belongs to the northeast region of Japan these days. Usually, Miyako has tons of snow around this time of the season, not the southern part of Japan such as Okinawa and Amami-Oshima.  But it appeared totally opposite this time. I have heard they were so excited to have snow there in southern part of Japan, and they wanted to make some snowmen. But because for most of them, this was the first time to see the snow, they did not know how to make the snowman. So, they google searched "how to make snowman." Interesting.   I would lik...
