Owning a car in Japan

There was an interesting article about "the cost of owning a car in Japan," so I would like to introduce it by translating it in English.   Let's say you are buying the 200 mil. yen car by 60 months loan. The monthly payment is 3.5 mil. Having parking space costs about 1 mil. yen per month. (But if it's in and around the major cities, it costs at least 3 mil. yen per month.) Vehicle inspection fee is about 7.5 mil yen per year, so it's about 6,250 yen per month. Car insurance costs about 5 mil. yen per year; that's 4,200 yen per month. Vehicle tax is about 34,500 yen per year or 2,875 yen per month. Plus maintenance cost such as, changing engine oil and tires, also gasoline, toll fee, so on - the average cost for them is 176,000 yen per year or 14,700 yen per month.     Total: 73,025 yen per month.     Say you ride taxi for 1,500 yen per time. For 73,025 yen, you can ride taxi for about 48 times (and/or bus and/or train.)   Well.  That could be

Gliding

For airplanes, they can do gliders fly even after they have the all engines failures during the flight.  Then, the pilot can find the safe place to make the airplane landed while the gliders fly. Now, every time I encountered to this situation    of my car running out of gas, I always think:

There are two ways to spread light to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.

Assistant Producer: Saaya Tazawa Navigator: Hisako Yamaguchi  Members: Toby Almy, James Macrae  Interpreter: Togo Sasaki  Thank you very much for the great show as always, radio staffs and members!!  Yes, I agree to these British gentlemen said Miyako is very American by celebrating the American holidays and festivals, such as July 4th, the independence day of US, and Thanksgiving.  So, I think Miyako should start celebrating the UK holidays as well, such as:      [March] March 17th:  St Patrick's Day (in North Ireland)  [April] Good Friday, (Saturday,) Easter Sunday, Easter Monday  [May] Early May Bank Holiday, Spring bank holiday [June] Orangeman's Day (in North Ireland) [August] Summer Bank Holiday (England, Wells, Scotland) [November] St Andrew's Day (in Scotland) [December] Boxing Day    Ref: http://matome.naver.jp/odai/2140836052534947201?&page=1      Whatever the crazy ones like Halloween is fun to copy, like Ha

[PolitiC@ Nippon] RE: Roanoke Mayor David Bowers: Reject refugees like U.S. interned Japanese (via Washington Post)

" "President Franklin D. Roosevelt felt compelled to sequester Japanese foreign nationals after the bombing of Pearl Harbor," Roanoke's Democratic mayor, David Bowers said, "and it appears that the threat of harm to America from ISIS now is just as real and serious as that from our enemies then." [INGRESS] Mission G.E.E.M 20151120

When I looked all over the Miyako from the intel map, I found east of Miyako was dark empty like this: I saw there are several portals that I could link together. So, my mission of this week was "G.E.E.M (Greening the East End of Miyako.)" After I did back and forth several times to connect the missing links, went up to the little mountain in the freaky darkness to find the portals, got lighten up by security light as the suspicious person, finally I made it like this:       I think this is good enough just by myself. Good job, me. *LOL* *MISSION COMPLETED.*

[Politic@ Nippon] For Beirut, Lebanon

[If We Don't See Beirut News, Is Facebook to Blame?] http://fortune.com/2015/11/18/facebook-news-beirut/ I have read the news about the people in Beirut, Lebanon. They are disappointed because even though there were people who devoted their lives to save others from the terrorists' attack in Beirut, yet not getting known widely as Paris, France. So, I made the Lebanon badge online that you can add to your SNS profile picture.   It's easy to use, so if you have a heart for the people in Beirut, Lebanon as much as you do for the people in Paris, please add this badge to your profile picture of SNS too. Navigator: Hisako Yamaguchi Members: Yonae Rolle, Adam Ramli Interpreter: Togo Sasaki Thank you very much for the excellent show, members and staffs!! It was very fun to listen the show. I don't know if Yamaguchi san noticed that it was me who sent the email to the show asking what phrase to write on the birthday card after "Happy Birthday."   I used the handle name "艶・クノイトー (Tsuya Kunoito)" on the email while I am the interpreter of Ito "通訳の伊藤 (Tsuuyaku no Ito.)"  "Tsuya-Kunoito" vs "Tsuuyaku-no-Ito." I thought Yamaguchi san would find it out when she read the name, but she did not sound like she noticed. Well.   Adam san and Yonae san had the fun discussion of what's romantic or not, and also about "xoxo" which means "kisses and hugs" in the end of the message. When I come to think of "xoxo," it can convert into encryption code, like Morse Code.   Morse Code contains &q

[PolitiC@ Nippon] 200,000 Sex slaves *LOL* vs. Lai Dai Han & Kopino

"Lai Dai Han" are the victims who were born resulted of sexual assault and rape committed by South Korean soldiers during Vietnam War. A few hundred thousands of Vietnamese young women age of 14 up were raped and 5,000 to 30,000 Rai Đại Han are still suffering, discriminated and shun in their communities. Those victims are now speaking out to the public about the atrocities committed by South Koreans and demanding official apology from South Korean government. We all know that Korean comfort women were well paid prostitutes recruited by private brokers but they have been demanding apology and compensation from Japanese government. Japanese government officially apologized over 50 times although it is not necessary. Also created funds to support those so called victims. As you can see, those victims of Korean army are not demanding even penny but trying to get their human dignity back to them instead. Because THEY ARE THE REAL VICTIMS. They are n

[INGRESS] Mission D.O.F.P.F 20151113

As of Friday, November 13, 2015, the intel map around Miyako looked like above.  My mission this time is D.O.F.P.F (Destroying the Opponents' Field and Potential Field.)  You see the large 2 blue triangles next to each other in the middle of the map.  The right triangle is even reaching some more lines out from one of the corners trying to make another triangles.  That's what my target was.      When I zoomed in the target corner on the map, I found it's consisted by three portals connected.      They were:      生命ある水 (Water with Lives,)  リバーパークにいさと (River Park Niisato,) and 牧庵十角堂 (Decagon Temple of the Buddhist priest, Bokuan Bengyuu.)  Those resonators were what I had to destroy this time.  But, all of them were level 5 portals and some of their resonators were already damaged.   So, I thought it should be easy.             Actually, it was and it did not take too long for me to seize them.  Because those three port

Producer: Hisao Hashimoto Assistant Producer: Yuri Kimura Navigator: Hisako Yamaguchi Members: Ben Pedersen Interpreter: Togo Sasaki, Ito Shunsuke Thank you very much for the excellent show, members and radio staffs, especially to the only member this time, Ben chan for sharing the interesting story from the Miyako Salmon Half Marathon. He completed the whole half marathon with his time of 2 hours and 17 minutes while the cut line was 2 hours and 20 minutes.  That's remarkable. Ben chan also told us that while he was running, he was saying (he thought he was saying) that he was tired in Japanese to the people whomever talked to him, but they looked him weird. That's because what he was saying was "ISOGASHII" which means "busy" in Japanese. So, I assumed it was like:   Audience:  Hey, Benchan!! How's your running!? Benchan:  I am freaking "BUSY!!"   Well. It might sound like "Can you see me running, dumb it!?&q
