Zombie Attack!!

On the facebook time line, I had this zombie guy picture from one of my friends. It says "This guy just busted in your door! The object to your left is your only weapon. How screwed are you?" Well, these are what I have on my left. They are coffee pot, phone, q-tips, remote controllers for the air conditioner, and cardboard box from Amazon.jp.  The most useful one is the coffee pot, I think; I probably could whack his head with this.   Or I can offer him a cup of coffee to see if caffeine can kill him by making his heart pound faster, so he would bleed out from his wounds to make him fainted by poor circulation.        The second useful thing is the old phone with cord.   I can use this corded phone like nunchakus to beat him up like Bruce Lee.  Only the problem is that I am not very good at using nunchakus; I can be beating myself up.     I could use q-tips to attack him as well. How?  I can poke his eyes with these.   You see how man

Honey Trap

While I gave my father 6 pack beers for the last Father's Day, my sister was very sweet to send him many gift, such as clothes and foods. from Tokyo. My grandmother organised them and put those clothes into his closet, and those foods into refrigerator and kitchen shelves. In this afternoon, my grandmother's sister came over and made some toasts for her lunch. And she found "HONEY, (one of the gift my sister sent to father)" in the food shelve. So, she put it on the toast. After she took a bite, she tasted something funny, and she threw that toast away. Why?  What she thought honey was actually body soap. That was some trap.  Well done, sis.  *LOL*

Where has my little toe gone!?

After I came back to the home around midnight, I took off my shoes at the door to get inside. When I saw my right foot, I got so freaked out because the little toe was bending to the other direction!! I was little panicked, and touched to the little toe over the sock, and I was going to be fainted because I could not feel my little toe!! I did not remember how and when I lost it. So, I took my right sock off to see what damage I had there. I thought I had not felt any pain when I lost it because I was drunk that night. Then, I found my little toe had been together with the next toe in the five toed sock. Yeah, well.

INGRESS in Miyako 2015.06.26

It was beautiful morning today, so I rode my bicycle to the work. I played INGRESS on the way, and I took the video with my android phone too. In the first half of the video, you won't see the INGRESS because there is no "portals" at all around the area. (I know some of you are not really understanding what I am saying, but if you are interested in playing INGRESS, look for it on Google.) In order to take this video, I made the phone fixed on the bicycle by tightening it with the strings. It does look very shaky, so please don't get motion sickness by watching this. *LOL*           You may not familiar with this area at the beginning of this video even if you are in Miyako. The area is called "Bachiga-sawa." There are some plum trees, so it gets beautiful in the spring, very green for the summer (as you can see in the video,) and nice and white with snow on the tree in the winter time. So, if you have a chance to go through Bachiga-sawa, please

Producer: Hisao Hashimoto Assistant Producer: Yuri Kimura Navigator: Eri Ito Members: Toby Almy, James Macrae, Ben Pedersen, Yonae Rolle Interpreter: Togo Sasaki, Ito Shunsuke Thank you very much everybody who were in the show last night. That was fun to hear the interesting stories from the radio members.   The topic was 100 yen store, and Ben chan mentioned the wrapping papers that he bought to wrap the rice cooker that he purchased for Toby's birthday.  Since Japanese wrapping papers in 100 yen shop is very short, he had to use many of them to wrap just one box. I don't know how many wrapping papers he had to use, but he sounded like he did some patchworks.   Like in the US, they have 1 dollar store, they have 1 pound store in the UK. According to James from London, they don't have much variety things compare to Japan. Also 1 pound is 180 yen, so it's little expensive there, he said. When James was telling about the 1 pound store in UK, some girl

Keep yourself healthy during the rainy season in Japan

In the rainy season in Japan, you tend to feel dull. It's not only because of the shady weather with humid, but also, your body that has less chance to get sweat. When you don't get sweat, your body keeps old water - as the result, that can cause anorexia, dyspepsia, and diarrhea. So, it is important to remove your old body water from your body and drink enough water. To do so, the the 3 things are recommended.   1. Keep your body warm in the air conditioned room because your body doesn't get sweat in cool/cold temperature. 2. Have a foods and drinks with a diuretic effect, such as, green tea, tomatoes, cucumbers, short-neck clam, white gourd-melon, red beans. Foods with perspiration effect, such as ginger, green onion, coriander, shiso, peppermint. 3. Do exercise.   The rainy season continues until the middle of the July, so keep your body healthy. The Advantages

When I was in the bathroom at Michi-no-Eki, the rest area, in Yamada, somebody rushed into one of the private rooms there. I did not pay attention, so I did not notice who that was. I just thought "gee, somebody really needed to go to the bathroom." I was washing my hands, then I saw the person came out from the private room in the mirror . That was an old woman. I was stunned for a moment to see her, so she was when she saw me. When I turned around to her, she ran to the entrance and looked at the door that was opened for the ventilation. I think that's when she noticed it was men's room she went in. (Maybe not.) Then, she started moving very slowly, and making her eyes squinched to see whatever she was looking. She seemed like 20 years older compare to when she rushed into the bathroom, unless she was pretending old. That can be one of the advantages to be looked old.  If you are on the age of 20s or 30s, it may not work. I think those foreigners in Japa

Pickled Onion for Prevention of Summer Weariness

During and after the rainy season, you can get tired very easily because of the weather, humidity, and heat.  I would like to recommend you the pickled onion to prevent the summer weariness. Onion can -reduce your blood pressure -prevent (and treat) heart attack, kidney disease, diabetic, eye disease, so on -enhance the strength of capillary vessels.. etc. etc.     [more about onion's health benefit (English)] https://www.organicfacts.net/health-benefits/herbs-and-spices/onion.html [more about onion's health benefit (Japanese)] http://rosell-taller.at.webry.info/200804/article_10.html      Here's simple way to cook pickled onion: (Ingredients) Vinegar (1 cup, 200 cc) Onions (2) Salt (1 tea spoon) Honey (3 table spoon)    (Recipe) 1. Slice the onions and leave them for 30 to 60 minutes, or you can microwave them for 15 seconds instead of waiting for 30 to 60 minutes (to have sulfur‐containing amino acid in the onion acquired the component to

Stationery

OK, let's talk about stationery *LOL* My favorite stationery is this pen. This "ceramic (the name of the pen)" is produced by Kyocera.       I really did not care what I used for writing or taking note. But, this pen made me different.  For the first time I wrote with this pen, it's like "DARN, GIRL." It's very smooth on the paper and it feels almost like fountain pen. Actually, you can see how people think of this pen from the reviews at Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B00172OOHK/       I did not know how much this pen was until I looked for the ink refill (yes, I used up the whole ink.) The pen itself costs about 1,300 yen, and refill ink is about 400 yen.  It's pretty expensive for a pen. If you go to the 100 yen store, you can buy 10 pens for 100 yen. So, 1,300 yen, you can buy like 130 pens.   I still choose this one single pen, ceramic, rather than 130 pens from 100 yen store. It's that good.   I fou

June 17th, 2015 Miyako International Community Radio via Miyako Harbor Radio 82.6 FM [LIVE] Producer: Hisao Hashimoto Navigator: Eri Ito Members: Yonae Rolle, Ben Pedersen Interpreter: Togo Sasaki, Ito Shunsuke   I don't know what had happened, but we are just keep laughing for the entire show. Well, it was so fun. I think the big laughing started even before the show; when I told Yonae chan that the topic we talk about is "stationery." She started cracking up, and almost fell off from the chair. Yes, girl. Thank you very much for doing the expressing part of mine too. If somebody told me that the radio show's topic is stationary, I *ROFL* too. Anyway, we started talking about stationery in the show. She mentioned the "drill eraser" for the stationery that made her surprised in Japan. But, nobody there knows what she was talking about except her. After she mentioned the drill eraser, I thought So, I asked her if that'

What the swallow says

I was listening to the radio, Miyako Harbor Radio, this morning; the DJ Kimura san said that she found the swallow had been making its nest under her house roof.   She wanted to remove the nest but since the swallow was making the nest so quick, she did not have chance to remove it.  So she decided to keep it there like as a little pet outside her house.   She is now expecting the baby swallows come out from the nest sometime saying "PIYO PIYO," but wait a minute.   "PIYO PIYO" is the chirping or cheeping sound that baby chick makes, may not the baby swallow.   Then, I was thinking what the baby swallow possibly says and I came to this conclusion.   Baby swallow says      How?   Well, in the animation, Pokemon, the monsters in there says either their names or their shorten names. ex:  Pikachu says "Pika Pika"   Bulbasaur says "Bulbasaur Bulbasaur" Squirtle says "Squirtle Squirtle"  So, put the swallow (swallow is &qu

Portals in Miyako (1)

By playing INGRESS, the smartphone game, sometime it takes me to the places of cultural significance, such as public art, landmarks, monuments, etc. where I have never been or seen even in Miyako, my hometown.      I have been taking some pictures of those portals, so I would like to introduce them briefly with map link.  Some of them are not registered as the portals yet, but I had sent the request to INGRESS when I took the pictures. 1. Suidou Kouen (Water Line Park) [Portal Requesting Now] Map:  https://goo.gl/maps/jAZRP This park had opened in June 4th in 1993. You can walk not only behind the water fall, but also in the water with bear foot. So, it's nice place to "chill out" literally. 2. Suijin-hi (Stele of the Water God) [Portal] Map:  https://goo.gl/maps/jAZRP Next to the Suidou Kouen (Water Line Park,) there is Miyako Water Line Management Office.  When this Office opened, they made this stele.   In front of this stele, it says Suijin-h
