One of the ALT got sick and I had to take her to the hospital.
In order to get where she was, I did not want to get lost since I am not good in the direction even in my hometown Miyako. So, I asked the address to the ALT recruitment company staff and put that to navigator application on my android phone.
(Actually, I had been to the place several times, but I wanted to make sure the address.)
I drove about 15 minutes, and the navigator said that I was at the destination.
So, I parked my car and look around.
I was in the forest.
I got off the car to see where I was.
There was a road in front of me seemed like going down to the beach.
There was a road behind me that's where I came from.
Left hand side was a forest, so was the right hand side.
Beautiful blue sky up there, and birds were singing.
WHERE THE HECK AM I THOUGH? I thought.
I called the company back again to confirm the address.
The staff said the address was in "Saki-Kuwagasaki, Miyako" while the other staff had told me "Kuwagasaki, Miyako."
Yes, that makes different. That one additional word was another 15 minutes driving.
Finally, I could made it to the place where I was supposed to be, picked her up and drove her to the hospital.
At the hospital, while I was filling the application for the medical treatment, one middle age woman came to me, saw the ALT with me, said me
"English? English?"
just like in those taxi drivers at the airports in South America who come and ask me "taxi? taxi?"
I just replied her back "Yes?"
Actually, she was trying to ask me if I need somebody who are very fluent in English to support the ALT. Well,
That was nice of her though.
